5000 foreign films request to participate at Fajr Int’l Filmfest

Over 5000 short and feature films from around the globe have requested to participate at the 35th Fajr International Film Festival.

More than 5000 films registered for the festival via international websites Filmfreeway and Festhome, a festival official told the media.

Established in 1982, Fajr International Film Festival is an event that celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Since its establishment, Fajr International Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of the Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.

The 35th International Fajr Film Festival which is Iran’s most important film presentation and competition festival is scheduled to take place in the country’s capital of Tehran from April 21 through 28, 2017.
